Pete Firman

A Very Warm Welcome to Pete Firman

John Doe: Dirty tricks. Debates have been running back and forth on this forum on whether it's the best thing to happen in British magic since Paul Daniels disappeared a million quid that belonged to Robert Maxwell or has it lowered the tone of magic below sticking a thumb up your a**e and a thumb tip out of your mouth?

Well one thing is for sure, Joe Public isn't having this debate. Joe Public is laughing his head off as mice get blended, celebrities get killed (well just Dr Fox) and all manner of other nasty things happen in the name of entertainment.

For me and many others the shining light of this whole series has been Pete Firman. He is a beacon boy for the cheeky chappy northern style that has that has been lost for so long.

Monkey Magic, was short listed for both the British Comedy Award and Golden Rose of Montreux. Again Pete was an more than integral part of the show.

Pete is true entertainer a regular on the comedy circuit and just at ease on stage as he is behind the camera.

What has amazed me most is that Pete has read at least some of our discussion on Dirty Tricks and has still agreed to come on and answer our questions. Often found to be surgically attached to Alistair Cook we have managed to separate them long enough for Pete to spend sometime on the site.

Ladies and Gentlemen we give you...

Mr. Pete Firman.

Pete Firman: Thank you very much and thanks for having me

I'm going to try and answer as many questions as I can whilst I'm here, I just have one request....

Be gentle!

Tubz: Never! I'll now go away and think of some provoking questions while sharpening my "good axe"

Jonesy: Cheers for coming on.

Nigel Shelton: It is with great pleasure that I also welcome Peter Firman to this site.

Like it or not, there has been a considerable increase in the interest in magic over the past few weeks due to the impact of Dirty Magic on our screens. Indeed, these forums have buzzed with debates following the transmission of each show. It is my guess that this period is a particularly active one for Pete, coinciding with the Dirty Magic series and therefore, I am particularly grateful that he is able to visit these boards and impart his knowledge and enthusiasm for magic at this busy time.

My fondest memories of Peter’s abilities and passion for magic find their roots in the Monkey Magic series. I used to relish the broadcast of each programme and I loved the camaraderie and friendship that existed between the four members of the team. Even now, I still smile as I recall the debates and discussions that were transmitted as part of this show – how I wish I could have been there in person and enjoyed the same.

Thank you Pete for helping to kindle my interest in magic through your lively and exciting passion for the art. I also thank you for your very kind offer to visit these forums to share this zeal with others.
