It is with the very greatest pleasure that I welcome our very latest special guest to Magic Bunny;

Mr. Max Maven.

Max is probably one of the most well-known and most respected magicians upon this globe. His face is instantly recognisable by magicians and members of the public alike, often appearing on television either in the role of an accomplished performer or as a contributor of knowledgeable and insightful words about the field of magic.

His fame is such that he hardly needs a formal introduction – his input to the field of magic is acknowledged and respected by all other professionals. He must be the most widely known and most respected of all living magicians and I am sure that he will, in years to come, rank alongside the greatest names in the history of this art.

It is with great honour that I welcome Max to these boards for Monday and I warmly invite contributions and input from our members over the next few days.

Max Maven bio

It is with great pride that I can write this introduction and small biography for one of the biggest influences in magic and my favorite mentalist. Max Maven.

Max is one of the few people to have been included in Magic magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the field of theatrical magic during the 20th century. Included on the list is Max Maven for "entertaining and astonishing audiences with his bizarre brand of mental magic....Maven's mind-boggling feats are accomplished through psychological subterfuge that he himself has cunningly created.... If mystery does indeed give magic its meaning, then the enigmatic persona of Max Maven makes us ever mindful of the art that is hidden in the mystery."

Max created and starred in Britain's multi-season TV hit Something Strange with Max Maven, with Canada's highly rated children's show The MAXimum Dimension also adding to his credits. Max has also starred in multiple television series in over 2 dozen countries including Taiwan, Sweden, Norway and Finland as well as hosting eight specials in Japan (performing in Japanese).

Max has even had his own computer game called Max Magic for Philips CD-I (winner of six industry awards)

Now in the 21st century, Max Maven is well into a new season of performance at the Steve Allen Theatre, in Hollywood.

MAX MAVEN THINKING IN PERSON was written and performed by Max Maven and runs from April 15th and concludes May 28th

Max Maven has an amazing history. He has been a successful author, lecturer, radio announcer, pianist, teacher, singer, actor, graphic designer, screenwriter, composer, advertising consultant, chef….and of course mentalist.

He's written some 2,000 published articles, effects and essays, for the magic world to study, learn and enjoy performing.

Max is on the Board of Advisors of the California Science Center in Los Angeles, where his magic is featured in a current exhibit, Magic: The Science of Illusion. This interactive exhibit can be seen touring museums across North America until 2007.
