MyndExplosion:
For the first question, your favorite NFL football team is
the Dallas Cowboys.
The
Scott: The 2 rings are connected at one point, and simultaneously
spinning both up and down (wobbling up and down) and spinning
on a horizontal plane, thus confusing the brain... (Your brain
contains separate cells for noticing movement in different
directions. By looking at the balance of activity from all
of these cells, you can work out which way an object is moving.)
Am I right ? Oh well... worth a try.
Peter:
Congrats to both the Joker and MyndExplosion, you guys are
absolutely right. Please email or pm me your mailing addresses
and I will have those copies of Meltdown out to you as soon
as the contest ends. As for question #4 I have seen some great
explanations so far, yet non of them are correct, so may I
offer everyone a Hint: Its a bit of a trick question. I will
be giving this Ultimate cane prize away no matter what, so
if I fail to see the right answer in a couple of days, I will
change the question to make sure someone wins. Thanks for
participating everyone, this is fun. I also look forward to
reading more of your questions and insights.
The
Scott: I really want this cane, make sure it's a question
I know the answer too.
Huw:
I think (?) I have it....? It's the three spirals. At first
they appear to be three independently rotating 2D discs. If
you stare at the center one, they gradually seem to take on
a slightly 3D form, with the center retreating into a vortex
and they also seem to merge so that the discs flow into one
another. Incidentally, they also have funny effect on your
eyes if you stare at them for too long as I have.
The
Scott: You stare at it the middle spiral for 30 seconds
then look at your hand and it looks like there are bugs crawling
under your skin! That’s the effect of the 3 spirals spinning.
Andy
D.: Is it something to do with the fact that, there really
isn't any illusion..........I had a about 6 attempts, and
I could not see anything changing much (I certainly haven't
as much imagination as Huw!) but all the time I was trying,
the link to 'Hank Lee's Magic Factory' is also in your line
of sight.....................and of course he does sell some
of your stuff! So perhaps.............Any 'weak-willed' folk
would be brain-washed into going to Mr. Lee's site and purchasing
one of your illusions. Mind you, it never worked with me!!
Lady
Laura: I don't think the three spinning disks have any
effect. The optical illusion is that when you first look at
it you think it will do something!
The
Scott: The suspense is Killing ME!
VIO:
What spinning discs I only see the rings at the top its the
only moving thing on the page?
Joker:
Look
on the links page.
Sean:
Trying to make you think the chain is spinning round or something.....oh
I don't know. I see the swirls and stuff there, but people
have already mentioned that.
The
Scott: Yes, mentioned, but nobody has answered correctly
yet! Well, Peter ain't told us if a few of them are right,
Huw's Mine, Lady of the Rings. :D Kevin.
Peter:
Well, well, well, And the winner is, Andy D! The spirals don't
anything at all! We put them there to make people believe
that there is an optical illusion when the real illusion is
that there isn't one. I hope no one is too angry with us!
The lady of the rings was also right, but unfortunately Andy
D mentioned it first. So I must award him the Prize...One
Ultimate Cane gimmick with a genuine Fantasio Cane. I hope
you enjoy this prize Andy! You will have to email or pm me
your mailing address. Scot, thank you so much for your enthusiasm
towards my product. I am sorry that you did not win. Thanks
to everyone for participating. I had fun with this competition.
Tora:
Peter it is not my business but would you mind if I suggest
you may give one meltdown for Scot and Lady of the rings since
they have get so closer ? Just an idea of mine...
Lady
Laura: I think Andy D deserves the prize. I must confess
that although I had decided that it didn't do anything really,
it wasn't until I saw Andy's answer that I decided to put
it up. I thought I was missing something, obviously not!!
Oliver
Gratter: Are The spinning optical illusions meant to create
an effect where it can look like a tunnel or a cone?
ReyRey:
Peter? So nice to see you on this side of the pond...I didn't
know this is where your time was being spent....? The payment
is in the mail ....I look forward to working with your equipment
ideas...I shall let you know my opinion as soon as it arrives.....
Thanks again for your lighting suggestions... I haven't been
in here in quite a few months...It was a pleasant surprise
to see you holding court this side of the Atlantic representing
well nonetheless.... Keep up the fine work lad!
