If I'm correct Tarko The Great was the man in one of David Blaine's specials showing his "tricks" and being "funny". Claiming that he taught Blaine everything.

Who is he really? What has he to do with Blaine? I couldn't find any information about this funny guy anywhere.

For me the Tarko stuff epitomised Blaine's gargantuan ego and later self-indulgence. Truly awful. Even worse than when he sat in a perspex box.

David has revealed several times since the making of the video that he is Tarquo in the video... the name is an offtake from from the name Tarquinius Priscus the first Etruscan king of Rome (David known to have a keen interest in figures of historical significance).

Known as King Tarquin he was the originator of the Circus Maximus which was the first "Greatest Show on earth". forerunner of our present day circus.

Circuses.PT Barnum and performance of that genre are, as he has stated, influences in Davids work and has nothing to do with anyone else that may have since claimed to have be the influence for the creation of this character ...cheers...Felix :o

Therefore, this is proof (by self admission) that Tarquo is a work of fiction and hence David has never had any links with Tarquin and thus "Tarquo" cannot be Tarquin.

The mix up is as a street performer I used the name "Tarko the great" and the "Amazing Tarko" and David Blaine did learn magic from me in the early 90's so it was safe to assume by many who knew him and myself that he was imulating me. But on video the man was too old and he claimed he died. If you notice in the video he claims that Tarko died in 2001 and in his book he claimed he died in 2000. He also has two different birth years

It's interesting that he doesn't mention this in his book, even though he does mention his other inspirations and teachers (for example Paul Harris). You can even see the influences these other teachers in David's specials. It is also interesting that it has been proved that the fellow in the book and on the video is a complete work of fiction, who existed purely to facilitate one of the clues for the Treasure Hunt which David Blaine set up in his book, hence the discrepancies in the year of death (to arouse suspicion). Did David Blaine learn from you for free, as you now claim you are doing by exposing and mass distributing other people's work by the "wonders" of file sharing?

Tarquin has made these claims over and over again but has yet to produce anything more than an ambiguous or non-conclusive answer to prove his statements.
